The Blue Dahlia, 1946

Blue Dahlia is an American film noir, released in 1946 and directed by George Marshall. It was one of Raymond Chandler's movies written for the screen ( Double Indemnity , is another one ).

Starring Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, William Bendix, Howard Da Silva, Doris Dowling

This film fascinates us by having a captivating and mysterious atmosphere. Dangerously beautiful women like Johnny Morrison's (Alan Ladd) unfaithful wife (Doris Dowling), a few undercover detectives as well as extortionists, femmes fatales and mysterious charming men frame this mystery film.

Johnny Morrison (Alan Ladd) returns to his wife, Helen (Doris Dowling), in Hollywood after fighting in the South Pacific, and with him are two military friends, George (Hugh Beaumont) and shell-shocked Buzz (William Bendix). Johnny is stunned to discover Helen's unfaithfulness with a local nightclub owner named Eddie (Howard Da Silva), who then breaks it off with her. When Helen is found murdered, everyone seems to have a motive.

The strength of the film is that until the end there are twists and surprises regarding the revelation of the killer..

The Heat of the Night, 1967, crime movie

Norman Jewison’s crime thriller "The Heat of the Night" is an extremely well directed and acted film picked up five Oscars, including best actor for Rod Steiger. The scenes shot on location in Sparta, Illinois. In the small town of Sparta, Tibbs, a black detective, is arrested when a white man is found dead.
