Beatles - η έμπνευση του John από τα διαμάντια της Lucy..(?)


Η ελευθερία της τέχνης σε κάνει να ακούς τα χρώματα ή να βλέπεις τους ήχους. Η επιρροή της οπτικής τέχνης στην μουσική είναι τεράστια...Ταινίες ή φωτογραφικό υλικό έχουν εμπνεύσει μουσικούς και το αντίθετο βέβαια.

Είναι γνωστό επίσης ότι μεγάλες επιτυχίες συγκροτημάτων δημιουργήθηκαν μέσω οπτικών εμπνεύσεων όπως για παράδειγμα το "Smells Like Teen Spirit" των Nirvana. Κολιτός φίλος του Κερτ είχε γράψει σε τοίχο του το "Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit"...... Το τι ήταν βέβαια το teen spirit το έμαθε ο Kurt αρκετά μετά την κυκλοφορία του ομώνυμου δίσκου..(Ήταν ένα αποσμητικό και όχι ένα επαναστατικό μήνυμα όπως νόμιζε ο Κερτ!).

Η είδηση που κυκλοφόρησε αυτές τις μέρες για τον θάνατο της Lucy O'Donnell, έμπνευση στην ουσία του 4χρονου γιου του John Lennon και όχι του γνωστού Σκαθαριού για να γράψει το γνωστό τραγούδι "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"...έφερε στην επικαιρότητα το συγκρότημα για άλλη μια φορά! Το τραγούδι γράφτηκε από τον John και τον Paul McCartney το 1967.

Ο μικρός υιός του John Lenon Julian - στην πραγματικότητα - ήταν ερωτευμένος με την συμμαθήτρια του Lucy..εμπνεύστηκε και ζωγράφισε λοιπόν την lucy σε έναν ουρανό με διαμάντια ( αν και νομίζω ότι το σχέδιο έδειχνε την lucy με "διαμαντένια" μάτια) κάτι που ενέπνευσε τον μεγάλο μουσικοσυνθέτη να γράψει το ομώνυμο τραγούδι μαζί με τον Paull ο οποίος μάλιστα το 2004 ισχυρίστηκε ότι το τραγούδι αναφερόταν στο γνωστό παραισθησιογόνο LCD πράμα που είχε αρνηθεί σε προηγούμενη συνέντευξή του στο Rolling Stone ο John Lennon!

Η αλήθεια σαφώς είναι ότι το τραγούδι αφορά το LCD και όχι απλά μια ζωγραφιά του Julian..κανείς όμως δεν αναφέρεται στην έμπνευση του Julian και από που προέκυψε τελικά το γνωστό τραγούδι..o μικρός ήταν ερωτευμένος με το κοριτσάκι όπως ο μπαμπάς του παλαιότερα με αρκετά κορίτσια που έγιναν μούσες του.

Το μάρκετινγκ βέβαια δεν σταματάει ποτέ και οι πωλήσεις του "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" θα αυξηθούν κατακόρυφα...ενώ η Lucy μετά τον θάνατό της "κέρδισε" ορισμένα λεπτά δημοσιότητας..

John Alton the maestro of the Film Noir atmosphere

John Alton was an American cinematographer. He made is feature film debut in 1927 with The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg. Alton won an Academy Award for cinematography of An American in Paris, becoming the first Hungarian-born person to win it. Alton is most famous for  films noir style of the classic period . "But when I'd take most any director aside and ask him to sit down with me, he'd look at me as if I were crazy. He'd say, 'I've never sat down with a cameraman to talk about these things. What do you mean? You just pump a lot of light in!' I'd say 'You don't 'pump' light into a scene. That light has to tell something. There's a meaning, and it establishes a mood.' That was the difference between my pictures and some of the others: [in mine], each mood was different. The mood had to be done with lighting. That's my profession — not the lighting and how to light, but bringing out the mood."  ...

Blood Simple 1984

“But what I know about is Texas, and down here...  you’re on your own…”  "Blood Simple" is  an extremely enjoyable and good quality movie . It is the first film of Coen brothers and it is included in the category of Neo Noir films. The film's title  derives from the Dashiell Hammett novel Red Harvest (1929) , in which the term "blood simple" describes the addled, fearful mind-set of people after prolonged immersion in violent situations. Μany argue that the film is included in the category of horror films. But even if it has one of the most disturbing nightmare scenes I have ever watched,  the film is far from this category.
